Gran Class, the highest class on the Shinkansen.

You can ride it on the Tohoku, Hokkaido, Hokuriku, and Joetsu Shinkansen.

It's already been 10 years since it was introduced in 2021????

Not only does it have high-class seats,

light meals and free drinks are provided,

it's an elegant space limited to 18 people per train✨

In fact, there are things you can only buy if you ride Gran Class????

What is that...⁉️

※This article is limited to trains with drinks and snacks

Tohoku and Hokkaido Shinkansen E7 Series Gran Class Seats

What is Gran Class? ? If you're wondering,

please check out our previous article!

Gran Class operations resumed on March 26, 2021

As a measure against COVID-19 infection, sales (sale of reserved seats) themselves were occasionally suspended,

and were suspended from January 16 this year,

but resumed on March 26 the other day.

I rode it the day after it resumed!

(I'll talk about the ride later)

In-car sales are still suspended

Although the provision of snacks and drinks has resumed in Gran Class, in-car sales (sales from carts) on the train itself are still suspended.

Are there hidden goods that you can't buy!?

So, on to the main topic????

Actually, very few people may know that this exists.

That's because it's not widely known????

On the Gran Class website,

it just says that they have "original products".

The page where it says this

It's not even written in the bookmarks inside the train.

It's a product that only those in the know know about✨

How can you buy it?

The answer is "talk to the attendant".

I've ridden it many times in the past and had the chance,

but I've always forgotten about it, or there was no pamphlet...

So, the other day I finally got one????

The pamphlet I received was tiny, the size of a postcard! That's how it feels.

To purchase, you send in the enclosed postcard,

you won't receive it on the train, so it won't be a burden to carry????

What is the hidden item?

Original glass!

You can purchase two types of glasses that are actually provided on Gran Class trains✨

Drinking glass

A glass mainly used for herbal tea.

Wine and sake glass

A small glass provided for sake, champagne, and wine.

I guess it's called a cold sake glass...

You can order two sets of the same or different glasses from those two types.

What's in the application form?

It looks like this.

Payment can only be made by bank transfer or cash on delivery,

credit cards cannot be used.

A separate shipping fee is required and the amount varies depending on the number of sets purchased.

If you pay by bank transfer, you have to calculate the shipping fee and deposit it, which is a bit worrying...

By the way, you have to fill in the train and seat you used,

so in effect, only those who have used the train can apply.

What is the selling price?

The whole combination is 3,000 yen (tax included).

It's 1,500 yen per piece,

which I personally think is cheap considering the small number of originals produced... what do you all think?

One week after ordering...

It was carefully packed in a cardboard box,
