"Foreign Trade Story 5: Green Seats and Hotel Accommodations"…

The other day I wrote about a staycation at Department Store A, but this time I'd like to write about a staycation at Department Store B. Department Store A is the main store for my family. So I didn't do much shopping at Department Store B, but the person in charge was very nice, so I couldn't just ignore it and I kept in touch with them to a certain extent. Department Store B invited me to a big event in Tokyo. It was a very generous treat, with Shinkansen, hotel, and meals included. Of course, the Shinkansen was a green seat. On the day of the event, the person in charge greeted me at the entrance. Inside the venue, there were not only jewelry and watches, but also bags, shoes, tableware, and all kinds of other things on display. The hotel's banquet hall was too big for everyone, so they rented out the entire hall for the event. It must have been a pretty big event, attracting people not only from Tokyo but also from other regions. It was an event like that, so there was no way I'd come all the way there and not buy anything. But there was nothing I wanted! I might be criticized for saying this, but I was a Chanel lover at the time. Most of my clothes were Chanel, but there was no Chanel or Hermes at the event. What a nasty woman! I was in high spirits at the time, so please forgive me for thinking this was a long time ago. It was hard to look through the items, thinking that I had to buy something even though there was nothing I really wanted. In the end...
I thought this would be fine,
so I got a pearl and diamond necklace from Cartier.
But... I need to buy a few more,
said my husband,
and we ended up buying some ridiculously expensive glasses.
More expensive than Baccarat!
They were special Japanese cut glass glasses
I remember that a single wine glass was about 150,000 yen...
I bought a series of them at random.
I also chose some boots and other small items.
I calculated roughly how much I could buy
and I wondered if the person in charge wouldn't be embarrassed?
I was exhausted from all that thinking
about shopping.
I remember I was more exhausted by the number of people, the size of the venue, and the chaos than by the stacks of 10,000 yen bills flying around.
These things are kind of weird, aren't they?
It's really a strange world.
Maybe it's the salesperson's job to stimulate the customer's ego and loosen their purse strings.
I think that's because we have some really amazing customers.
It would take too long to write about this, so let me write it again.
And after shopping, we had the usual dinner.
...or so I think.
To tell you the truth, I don't remember much about the meal.
If I say I don't remember it,
it was probably the usual dinner at a restaurant in the hotel.
Looking back, it seems funny, but
it was a good experience in its own way.
After a period of luxury, I've realized a lot of things since I moved to my current life of extreme poverty.
Experience is never a waste.
My past is what has made me who I am today.
It's all mine, good and bad! Don't regret your life
Spend today with a smile♪
