Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to enhance their weapons and equipment with new affixes, boosting its base stats or adding additional perks. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Items with weak bases, like rings, can be upgraded into more robust bases. Items with strong bases, like Titans from eth, have no change in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components are items that can be incorporated into weapons, armor, trinkets and gathering tools, providing an attribute bonus or additional effect while the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, or found in loot, thrown away by enemies or received as a reward from missions or chests. Some upgrades can have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level to upgrade.

To upgrade an armor, weapon or other item in the game, the player will need to select it and then click on the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will show a preview on the right side of the screen showing what the expected upgrade stats will be as well as the element or material required to complete the upgrade.

There are three types of upgrade components including universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which are made up of gems, can be put in any kind of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Infusions are gems that are only available in legendary and ascended equipment. They offer the same benefits as jewels, however they cannot be used with any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add a suffix at the end of the names of items. For example, adding a Glyph will transform a staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If the player upgrades their gathering tool and replaces the glyphs with a different one, the old one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace another upgrade component, it will be destroyed, with the exception for inscriptions, which are able to be swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade system is different from previous versions in some fundamental ways. Gear is now categorised in tracks, and each item level upgrade is able to be upgraded so many times before it's "leveled out." The cost for upgrades is increased with each level however the materials required do not increase as much. This allows players to focus their efforts on a specific few items and maximize the effect of those items rather than spreading upgrade costs over multiple pieces.

This will enable the item to receive upgraded components and a higher chance of success. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Power and it is reset to 0 in the event of failure, or increases when the upgrade is successful.

Once a piece of gear is upgraded to its maximum level it can be eligible to be given affixes that enhance its capabilities. The amount of affixes available will depend on the item's type. For instance, a rare or unique weapon with a base that is normal will have only two affixes for it, while a legendary armor will have up to eight affixes for it.

Each upgrade will require the use of a certain amount of Flightstones and crests to complete depending on the item's current level and the item slot it's in. Typically, weapons require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.

If an item is not able to get to its maximum level, the NPC will give the player the option to transfer it to another character and re-infuse it with a different set of upgrades. This procedure can take as long as two hours and cost the same amount of material. However it has a lower rate of success.

To determine the height of a building engineers utilize a level to compare the measurement against a known reference point like a benchmark or the elevation of the ground. This process is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings using the backsight rod and level and then turning the level to make the foresight rod reading. This method guarantees that structures are built to a high degree of precision and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item upgrader mod. It is a vital aspect of the game and can drastically enhance an item's strength, damage, or other characteristics. It is possible to do this through the item menu or by pressing the Reroll button every time you upgrade an item. Rerolling items can be costly and should be used sparingly.

Reroll tokens are derived by recycling upgraded items. These tokens are then used to upgrade the original item, or to upgrade another item of the same type. Recyclable items have an indicator that indicates the degree of upgrade. The amount of level that has been filled is based on the rarity and upgrade cost of the item.

In the past, some upgrade items had priority affixes which made them easier to roll for than other. This meant that you'd get the most crucial stats for your build more often than others. This included stats like the armor's total armour, thorns and control impaired duration reduced stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and strike chance.

This changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes have been removed and all upgrades will have the same chances of rolling for every stat. This can be a good or a negative thing dependent on your needs and expectations from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can also come with a bonus that boosts the power of the item by a set percentage or flat value. These bonuses are added over the standard affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the better your chance of getting the bonus of your choice.

The game also includes several sets, which grant a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are installed on an item upgrader. This is a good method of giving a character a lot more power without spending a ton of money.

Many players choose to reroll their equipment and weapons, particularly in the beginning of the game. Rerolling can provide a much faster route to becoming a strong character, allowing them to reach high tiers and progress the game faster.

Sets

Sets are collections of elements that can be organized in various ways. They can be of various dimensions, contain no elements at all or contain just one element. They can be utilized to organize data or sort information. They can also be used to analyze patterns. Sets can be classified in many ways in terms of size and shape.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers an array of set items that can be upgraded. Certain items are worth upgrading and others aren't. Upgrades are worthwhile for armor sets with high defense values and set bonuses. However, weapon upgrades often do not improve the Item upgrader mod's stats much compared to their counterparts in purple. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if you have lots of weapons or armor pieces already.

Some set items are upgraded to take advantage of their unique procs which can be beneficial in certain builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are examples of this. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, boosting their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement was increased as well).

Upgrades can also be done to bring certain items to the level of the different tiers. The Immortal King Set, for example, has a wide range of levels, ranging from 29 to 75. The upgrade of lower-level items in the set can increase their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will show the attributes of the item as well as the items required to upgrade it. This will display the item's characteristics, as well as the required items to upgrade it. To upgrade the No-mouth Face, for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, as well as 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to find out the upgrade requirements of specific items.

In general, weapons and armor have higher value when fully updated. Especially for weapons that have spell/weapon damage glyphs upgrading them to gold is recommended because it will result in a significant increase in their power. Armor that has an upgraded appearance will also benefit from this, since its defense value will increase when it goes from purple to gold.
